What to Expect in Spring

Spring is our primary competitive season with more games, league standings, and community events:

• Multiple games each week
• Weekly development-focused practices
• Opening Day Ceremony 🎉
• Picture Days
• Closing Day festivities
• Tournament opportunities for eligible divisions

First-time players are welcome.

Registration Fees — Spring 2026

Early Bird Discount: Save $25 through July 4

Late Fee: $30 after July 31

We’re Powered by Volunteers

Our league depends on community volunteers — coaches, umpires, team parents, and snack bar helpers.

• Volunteer 10 or more hours to remove the $60 non-volunteer fee during registration
• You can volunteer even if you don’t have a player in the league

• Jan 8 — Registration Closes
• Jan 10 — Player Assessments (Upper Divisions)
• Jan 25 — District Coaching Clinic (Hosted by SMLL)
• Jan 27 — Practices Begin
• Feb 22 — Opening Day Ceremony and First Games 🎉
• Mar 22 — Picture Day (Majors and Minors)
• Mar 30 – Apr 3 — SDUSD Spring Break — No Games
• Apr 5 — Picture Day (CAPS, Rookies, and Tee Ball)
• May 10 — Last Games (Majors and Minors)
• May 17 — Closing Day Ceremonies  🎉
• May 26 – Jun 12 — Tournament of Champions
• June – July — All-Stars

SDUSD’s last day is May 29, so Closing Day lands comfortably ahead of summer plans.

Games and Practices

• Games: Weeknights and Saturdays
• Home Fields: Cabrillo Heights Park (interleague games at nearby fields possible)
• Practices: One to two per week (coach scheduled)

Uniforms and Equipment

Registration covers a Jersey, Hat, Socks, and Belt for each player.

• Families provide a glove and game-day baseball pants (color decided by team)
• Most players bring their own batting helmet and bat; league equipment is available if needed
• Cleats are strongly recommended for traction on dirt infields (plastic or rubber only)
